Smoky Mountain Quilt Show / Rising Sun Quiltfest

Rod and I traveled to Maryville, Tennessee to attend the Smoky Mountain Quilt Show.  I had entered "Emiline" and was excited to see I got a first place. There were some very awesome quilts including the Best of Show by Linda Roy.  I got a chance to meet Linda and share some of my bed photos with her and the other guild members.  The guild would like me to come to Tennessee and do a trunk show, but I'm still thinking that over.

Meanwhile, I had also entered "Solitaire" in the Rising Sun Quiltfest in Indiana.  I was finally able to see the results online and what a surprise!

Best in Show

“Solitaire” by Pat Kuhns, Lincoln, NE

We had a chance to stop at the few antique shops and I found a great 4-poster bed.  I can't wait to make a quilt for it.

Also, stopped at Homestead Hearth in Mexico, Missouri.  I love this shop.
They were also interested in a trunk show.

Sharing My Quilts

The Country Piecemakers Quilt Guild wants me to do a trunk show in Norfolk. We decided on a date of May 6th.

I was also contacted again by Karey Patterson Bresenhan to entry my quilts in "500 Traditional Quilts" book for Lark Publishing.  She really encouraged me to at least enter "Emiline" because she already had a professional photo of it from International Quilt Festival in Houston.  I decided to also enter "Solitaire" and "Timeless Moments".   So I will be waiting to see if any of them are selected for the book.

Gold Doll Bed

I found this great doll bed in Kansas and I've been working on a mini pineapple quilt to put on it.  The blocks are  2 1/2 " and there are 37 pieces of fabric on each block.

Homestead National Monument

I just contacted Homestead in Beatrice about doing an exhibit.   I talked with Susan Cook.  She's ready to have me at the Homestead Days in June.  We will get together on Wednesday, Mar. 6th to talk and finalized some plans.  Maybe do a program as well.  Very exciting!

great reception.   I spoke on "My Favorite Things".   Many enjoyed looking at the unfinished back of my latest applique from Lori Smith.

January -- I had an exhibit at the Stuhr Museum for the entire month of January.
